Should I buy a house, a townhouse or a condo? |
|
Good question?
The answer is: It depends on your budget and the lifestyle you wish to live.
Houses will give you a backyard, most likely a basement and a garage. You will need to maintain that house, i.e mow the lawn, shovel the snow, pay utilities separately, also any repairs needed in the house will be your responsibility.
Condos will not require you to do any outside maintenance, the utilities will be included in the maintenance fee, there may be a swimming pool, gym and recreational facilities in the building. Maintenance fees may go up in the future but so may the prices of heat, water and hydro when you live in a house. So it really balances out at the end of the day. Don't ever let people scare you about "maintenance fees". You need a professional in the area ( realtor ) to better educate you and remove misconceptions you may have. |
